H - Alphabet of Chicken

H is the 8th letter of the alphabet. It is a heavy letter, spoken of in hushed tones. Heavy, heft, hoist, and harumph are all essential words that start with H. Stout legs support the bar that makes the center of the letter.

G - Alphabet of Chicken

G is, as previously mentioned, one of the roundest letters, but it balances that out with a firm bar. In the same way G can be soft like a J when the need arises, but maintains a unique hard sound in most situations.

F - Alphabet of Chicken

F is for foolhardy. I honestly put this one off for a bit too long as I tried to make an F that wasn't basically the same as E, while still keeping the design relatively consistent. It really wasn't too hard once I just did it.

E - Alphabet of Chicken

E is really just a couple platforms so there were far too many options. As such I opted for something simple. E is, after all, for Easy.

D - Alphabet of Chicken

D is the first letter is several violent words like destroy and devastate, but it is also fragile and has a softer side shown by words like destructible and daisy.

C - Alphabet of Chicken

C is the third letter of the alphabet, and one of the most round, along with Q, G and O. It usually makes the same sound as K, but they're good friends so they hang out in words like Duck. On that note D will be coming up soon.

B - Alphabet of Chicken

B is the second letter. It's like the a three on the right, with a one on the left, so it's easy to remember. I chose to use a smaller loop on the top to give the letter a bit more definition, and justify the chick on top.

A - Alphabet of Chicken

One of the first projects I had on this site was the Alphabet. I started it in 2009 and finished in 2010. Since that was rather inconsistent I decided to give it another go with my current um... skill set. This chicken alphabet will be more stylistically consistent than the last one.

Alphabet of Chicken Video

Well, I've got a video here with the good old song of the alphabet. It's all timed up with the Alphabet of Chicken that was recently finished. This is the final stage of that project. Bon Voyage alphabet. Soon this site will set sail toward a new destination, not that I know what that is. Until I know where I'm going all I can do is race blindly forward!

Z.

Well, at first I was like, "I'll hold off on this for a while." but that's a stupid idea. If I'm on a streak I should just toss up everything I get. If I ever run out of ideas I have a handful of 'good enough' pictures I could use to fill in the site for those of you who like this site.

Z! The final letter finally arrives in all of it's striking beauty. The sharp points bring out their full force against you. The chicken casually peeks out from behind it, haughtily mocking you! Are you just going to accept that!? Probably yes. After all that chicken's hiding out behind that stylish Z. 

For those of you who are curious as to why this isn't the end of the Alphabet of Chicken project my answer is this... El-em-En-Oh never sounded like one letter and I'd never know how to draw it anyways.

Y.

Compared to W. and X. this one seems dull and uninteresting. For that I'm sorry. Still I like the way the Y. turned out. The chicken watches the dark Y fade behind him as he strides out facing forward to his new life. By which I mean the new life that will be breathed into this site once the alphabet is done.

Now, I know you're thinking "Just the one letter left, huh?" Well, yes, but not just that. I'll provide more details in the post for Z.(or possible not)

X.

This cross of blue stripes forms a letter. X. is a striking intersection between the ideals of the chickens on either side of it. The cool calculated man on the left and the shady troublesome boy on the right. Together they cross into a powerful duo. I'm sure they have all sorts of Xtreme Adventures together. I imagine I could come up with more if I wasn't limited to the fact that this is an alphabet bit. I'll think about it later.

W.

Here is W. It's actually a lot smaller than the other letters in my series of letters. I'm not really sure when I started thinking of W as being 2 parts. I mean I do, but yeah.I like that little interlocking thing I've got going on with it. I probably should've made the outside edges jut out some, but I lost track of the size and thought it was big until I finished and realized it was relatively tiny.

V.

V has always seemed like a rather angular letter to me. Perhaps because it's just one sharp point. For this reason I used no curves in the production of V. I also, at a later point in the design process, decided to use only colors that would be purely a blend of 255 and 0. The striking result is here.

U.

When it came to making U. I was left in a state of uncertainty. What would be a good U? Nothing immediately came to mind. I though, perhaps the chicken would roost in the bottom of the U. Strangely this idea quickly lost it's appeal. With myself uncertain about it I abandoned it. Eventually I glanced the beak. It's almost a shame I didn't use this for C.

T.

Well, as happens every so often I'm releasing a spew of my alphabet letters. I'm excited. I'm almost done with this project.

SHWA-BAM! This is the letter "T"  Usually it looks like a tall line with a wide line dropped on top of it. I decided to add a bit of flare on the left side so it wasn't boring. Then I went to myself, "But where does the chicken go..." Then the lower-case hit me. "t" Little thing popping off the top. And I was like, "Okay!"

So that's that as far as T. goes.

S.

Here we have a classic letter. The chicken is upside-down and the entire this is rather minimalistic, though I have gone a lot farther with that before. The chicken is upside-down because that was how he looked best. Questions? No. Okay, good.

R.

R. is a pretty good letter and this chicken beak-wattle combo makes one very easily. I was actually just drawing a chicken then I turned my head a bit and saw the R. The chicken wasn't going very well but this detail didn't escape me. This chicken is a rather good design.

I figured I should just work the alphabet into my rotation instead of using it as a back-up. I mean I'm nearly finished now. Just R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z. Well, that's actually not that few, is it?

 Anyways about Q. itself. I made it with an O then I added the tail, but the tail is a chicken. That's pretty good, huh?
