Underwater?

Well, I was chit chattering with a buddy today and we discussed how he's still having some trouble with new MS Paint. So, after faiing to get old MS Paint to work on his computer I recommended mtPaint. He decided against it, but I went, "You know. I haven't used that in quite a while." So I used it. Then I fiddled with it's fancy gradient tool and this is what I got. I'm a bit disappointed I couldn't get the gradient to semi-transparently sit on top of the whole image of course. (Especially sine that's what the preview does) You know. when I play with fancy things I wanna do fancy things. Oh yes. This is the best sorta gradient by the way. The two color sort. I could do it by hand if I weren't a tad lazy. Well, I've done the other sort by hand too. It's easier actually But more like busy work.

Blazing

A rather basic construction of line art. Compared to the artist's usual standards this piece it seems simplistic, though the open beak is of note as it is a rarity in the collection. However it's impressive design and feeling of depth does little but draw out the lack of dimensions in the piece, which could likely have been corrected by the shading of the colors.

Giraffe

This is what you would call a D-I-Y Giraffe costume. Hand crafted by the finest swiss costume-makers. Because those aren't contradictory in the slightest.

Anyways The chicken tied a rather lengthy piece of cardboard tubing to his head, likely from some sort of wrapping paper or the such, then, using scissors and glue, attached a smaller tube, possible toilet paper, to the front. Then it all got spray painted yellow, and the swiss Sharpie-ed on the eyes. From there he draped himself in yellow cloth, with two hanging bits in the front with blocks on the ends to serve as the forelegs. And like that Badda-bing bada boom. CHALLENGE COMPLETE!

Wolf in Chicken's Clothing

Wolf in Chicken's Clothing
His dear friend Grey died years ago. And when he looked at the night sky he couldn't help but remember him. His death had been the Wolf's fault. Grey had died so that the Wolf could survive during the famine. And the wolf had always regretted it. And as he took up Grey's hat and scarf he swore to protect and uphold Grey's ideals.

Challenger! If you're here still tell me if it's alright for me to count this. Cause I read your challenge and this was what I wanted to make. I mean you probably wanted a wolf disguised as a chicken but... Anyways tell me if you accept this... CONDITION COMPLETION!

Avion Affection

Briones sent me a Fan Work again. Nice to hear from him I suppose. Here he presented MINECRAFT! It's a great game and his block chicken is great work. But the chicken he drew is terrible. Those eyes look like gobbledy-gook. The beak is shaped stupid. The first and second panels are identical, but that's not really an issue. It's just a normal delay. thing. The top of the wattle is flat. I Mean I usually mush it into the beak, but it's certainly not flat. At least gotta have an angle on it.

And I like the pixelated heart. That is all

Struck Grit

I'd like to start my apologizing. I've received a number of fan pieces lately(Three!) and haven't posted anything of my own creation on the site. But don't worry. I have one today(And will give you that last fan piece probably tomorrow)

The blue eyed fellow in the upper class business tycoon who hired the tough, down to earth green eyed bloke. Of course over the course of their quest they both had to become stronger, hence the grittiness. But still their personalities clashed at every turn, with the tycoon refusing to accept the bloke's hard earned know-how.

Striking Body

I thought I'd try and add a body to your striking chicken. It didn't come out too bad did it? I love your blog by the way. The chickens are all amazing and yes its ok for you to write about your day. Its funny how you like to eat chickens and yet you draw them.... well ok its not that funny. Its was funny 5 minutes ago... oh well. I'll keep it short. Keep up the awesome work.
-Beth Harvey

Thanks for  making an effort. It didn't come out badly at all. Always nice to hear back from you people. Well. It's quite acceptable, but it still isn't good enough. I just can't even visualize the right answer to this body.

HERO: Battle 03: Not The Hero's Fight

Okay. Here is the next part of Hero. I'm sorry to say that it doesn't really focus on our ball-like protagonist though. It instead serves to give us some insight on some of the other characters. And by insight I mean I wanted to draw the fight between the Wizard and The Cowboy. I also included another one of those profile type pages.

Next part will be out when it is. Ain't getting cocky this time.

500 Posts! 200 Followers! 2nd Anniversary!

So, I applied a number of things to this image. I used layers to make the green text look more interesting. Plus I made chickens in four different styles though really the fourth and first are more or less both just my standard method, with #4 being a bit more hot blooded. I decided against going over the top this time though, you know? Four is enough. Oh, is it at all clear that the planet looping round the sun means year? I had a really hard time thinking up a picture meaning year. Better than using the word though.

I admit... I delayed some stuff so this would line up right.(Next HERO will be out very soon by the way) And for some reason my followers, which had been at 197 for quite a while, spiked up past 200(Ms. Hanaburg) early in the week. I wanted to say something but I decided to hold off so I could make one post for all of it. It's much more exciting this way after all. Oh... I'm kind of excitable and it's already today so... I'll just post it now.

So once more. This is a celebration. I managed to make 500 posts over the course of two years and raked in more than 200 followers. Where will this site bring me next year? Keep following me and you'll find out!

Oh yes. Happy St. Patrick's Day. That is the site anniversary after all. Makes it easy to remember. I figure I ought to green up one of my favorite chickens from the past year to celebrate since that was what I did last year.

404(Not Really)

Well, when I bought this web domain I initially planned to implement this image as the core of the 404 page, but unfortunately I couldn't find any options to add a custom 404 page. Well, that's not quite true. I found them but I couldn't get any nice Google supported methods.

Anyways I thought it was a shame to waste this chicken so I decided to post it up for you all. It's got a cool composed look.

8-Point Star

Well first. I drew the black overlaying star type pattern. Then I looked at my buddy and we had a short conversation.

Me: Hey, how can I make this a chicken?
Him: I, uh, don't think you can.
Me: I'll show you!

And that's how this chicken came to be.

Handmade Sharpness

My apologies for the small size. I haven't got a working scanner and ended up using my cellphone camera. Obviously my notebook margins are full of chicken, but I decided to sit down and draw some gritty sharpness to finish off this challenge. He's even got some majesty lines coming off of him.

CHALLENGE COMPLETE!

Symphony

How this constitutes a symphony I honestly cannot say. It's the name that came to me when I drew this piece though. The sharp bright colors let the image burst forward on you and put at least a quick smile on your face, don't they?

Dream

When I got on today I was surprised to see that I hadn't posted a certain picture. So I opened my files up and was more shocked to find I hadn't even made it yet. It was then that I realized that I had never actually done it at all. Apparently this site had punctured into my dreams. So I sat down and I drew it again for the first time. I couldn't remember what I wrote in here in the dream and there's not a lot to say about the rather simple design of the chicken. But this story more than makes up for that I think.

Gotta Catch 'em All

Gotta Catch 'em All. Gotta Catch 'em All.

The new Pokemon came out today and being a 5 years old child I bought it when the store opened and played it all day with my buddies.

Well, after we went out to breakfast and enjoyed I a tasty tasty chicken fired steak. Those are delicious.

I'm allowed to blog about my day from time to time, right? I mean I usually don't but I think it's okay to share my day on occasion.

On that note I slept about 10 hours last night.

Super Hero Tights

Where do superheroes always get such strange colored tights. I can't imagine it's easy to find those sorts of patterned spandex suits. Or maybe it is. I've never looked. Anyways this chicken-themed superhero couldn't find that sort of things so he has a feathered mask and cape over a plain black set of tights.

Sorry for the poor start to this month.
