HALLOWEEN GUN BATTLE!!

CHICKEN FIGHTS DEVIL WITH MACHINE GUN.
You see the devil represents... the devil, and the machine gun represents the fun times of Halloween. Meanwhile the chicken is a sign of the children, who are defeating the devil with fun. You see the greatness of the fun times we used to have was that they were scary sometimes but now they're boring. Mind you that's not important. What's important is that...
CHICKEN FIGHTS DEVIL WITH MACHINE GUN.

Oh, and I cut in the pumpkin for extra Halloween.

Outta The World

At first I was just gonna do a silhouette but that was rather dull and I recalled that one I did quite some time ago, that Crazy Whatzit. I just kept applying layers of design, using MS Paint of course, until I got this result. I think the pale orange rounded boxes(you can see it in the lower left) could have used another layering looking at it now. Still it looks like crazy.

sick and dying

I was sick so this poor guy is sick and dying. I made him slightly green and had his waddle and comb go pale because green and pale are commonly associated with being sick. Then I gave him some eyes and I played with those until they gave the right impression of "Oh lordy... What did I do to deserve this..." I didn't quite get that impression but this was close as I could get without putting a few weeks into this guy.

Anyways I'm feeling much better now so I should be getting back into the swing of things. I hate stumbling on this site. I mean I'm sure no one cares but I get a feeling of satisfaction from the fact that people I don't know have looked at something I made.

Cause Yeah

This one right here is a nice sensible super deformed chicken. He thinks he's better than you 'cause he regularly has to wave off his dozens of fans. I like him so if you don't I'll call you a jerk who knows nothing about art, even though I know even less.

Symbol Chicken

This is the Devil witchcraft symbol chicken. I don't particularly like it but I said I was going to make one in that very vague picture set. Anyways the symbols are 666, a pentagram, a pair of upside-down crosses and the mark that was burned onto people suspected of being witches during the Salem Witch Trials. This is completely meaningless and shouldn't be taken as anything other than a pile of assorted symbols in a vaguely chicken-esque shape. And let's be straight here. Don't read anything into this. It's just like you know the summoning circle for the devil chicken or some such.

Dark Shine

The darkness and bright colors produce an interesting contrast with one another. The two waves coming from the back help to define the shape of the chicken without being forced. The red and black give a powerful evil sort of effect while the lime green eyes and yellowish beak nicely cut the effect. The stare to the right gives a powerful impression of his side. The split in the beak lets it have stronger facial impressions.

Epicly Boring

This one is epic and boring. That is to say that it is epic at a glance but once you look you realize it's boring.  Look how bored that chicken looks. The dull looking eyes and lack of focus are the boring element while the background is like a star burst, but not. The star burst is the epic. Well, it's not really epic but it does look a bit exciting. That's close enough for my purposes at any rate. Not sure this is quite explosive enough though. I mean I barely even posted this week and this is all I managed... Maybe I'll do better next time.

Chaser

Okay, we're back to full awesome. As promised this has quality. You see that shading on the chicken, right? It has Epic awesomeness. He's being chased by a demon made of fire. It even has things I didn't promise like symbolism and confusion.

The chicken is fleeing from hell, or something of that sort, where he was a prisoner being treated as a pet of sorts by the demon. However as he runs he runs somewhere that isn't even comprehendable and still just keeps fleeing because no matter how well treated he was he was still a prisoner and he needs to escape.

Oh, and if you didn't catch the symbolism even a golden collar is still a collar.

Blue Period END!

And the Blue Period is over. Picasso's lasted 5 years. Mine lasted 5 posts. Coincidence? I think so. And while I say this is the end you know what I kinda like these monochromatic pieces and might do some more some time. It'll be a more exciting color next time though. I don't really care for somber images.

Anyways next post I'm back to full awesome. The next post will be up shortly. Just as soon as I make it. And it'll have everything. It'll have quality and be awesome. And it might not have an outline. I haven't decided yet. Oh, and it'll be epic... and... uh... I'll know more once it exists

Rising Blue

Despite his deep sorrow and just being the same as so many others around him he still was the drive to improve and is trying to get out of the pit of despair he's in. His passions still exist and  he will escape the fate he's nearly falling to.

These monochrome images are really improving my feel for designing things without borders. I mean I used to be good at those but I quit for quite a while. I guess it's more of a refresher course than a learning experience. Anyways this Blue Period will be over when I have a great idea that strikes me, or I decide to resume my Alphabet series.
October 18, 2009

Blue Too

The somber eyes show an ever present despair. the monochromatic nature gives a strong impression of his long solitude. The expression looks forced as if he's hiding a secret or lying about everything, but despite his efforts he can't hide his sorrows.

F.

You thought that my Blue Period was gonna be a one-off sort of thing, didn't you. Ha. I'll show you. I'll show all of you that I'm not the sort to back down to a lack of pressure! I'll be straight with you this one is very cheaply made. Don't expect this sort of low quality in the rest of the series.

Anyways this is F. Obviously it is the next piece in my alphabet series. For some reason I just felt like I should get D., E. and F. done around the same time. I mean taking a break after F is perfectly reasonable but between E and F would have simply been unacceptable.

BLUE PERIOD GO!

I've decided that it's about time to start on my Blue Period. You know... Picasso style. Yes, I'm arrogant enough to compare myself to Picasso. I mean I once wrote a poem "in the manner of poets like Shakespeare." Anyways my blue period was inspired by Picasso's Blue Period. Though he was blue and blue-green whereas I am blue and blue-purple.

With that said... BLUE PERIOD GO!

Well, let's be honest with each other here. I'm just doing a Blue Period without the same inspirations. To quote Wikipedia on the Blue Period  "The Blue Period (Spanish: Periodo Azul) of Picasso is the period between 1900 and 1904, when he painted essentially monochromatic paintings in shades of blue and blue-green, only occasionally warmed by other colors. These somber works..."  So I'll be (MS) painting essentially monochromatic (MS) paintings in shades of blue and blue-purple, only occasionally warmed by other colors. My somber works...

Blog Action Day 2009: Climate Change

Okay, first off I don't think this is all our fault. The world just gets hotter sometimes. I mean if we have Ice Ages why wouldn't we have hot ages. Now mind you that's not to say that it isn't at least partially our fault. Still some of the things that we've tried to do to stop it, like not let India have cars, are just rude. The United States is practically the only major country, population-wise, that even cares. While other countries are trying to improve their lives we're chastising them for things we are doing worse. If out country wants to fix the environment then they shouldn't ask others to do things that they cannot. Increasing Environmental constraints on companies is one of the things that we do, though honestly I think we should just stop complaining.

As for the picture. Well that's what this entire blog is about. I'm pretty sure we abandoned the idea that this was going to somehow cause an ice age. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to flood everything now. Still the image had stuck with me from from movies and such, like The Day After Tomorrow, which I know are wrong but that's not important. And if we want to avoid whatever it is we're plummeting toward we're going to have to go against it with a burning passion.

This post was made as part of Blog Action Day 2009

E.

Come on now. You didn't expect the whole alphabet to be in that generic alphabet style, did you? You had to know that at least one letter would be in Gritty Sharpness or else we'd all have to cry. And E. seemed the best letter in the near future to fill the role, though X or Z would also have worked well in the position

Also in response to the earlier comment. Everyone knows that A, B and C are supposed to be Green , Red and Blue, respectively. At least that's how it is in the North East. Though regardless... Mine is wrong.
October 13, 2009

D.

Well, here we have D. It is pretty basic. I had a bit of trouble with the curve of the D for some reason. Overall, it's pretty basic with the chicken peering through.

Also you may notice that I'm participating in Blog Action Day 2009. Don't worry too much. It will have the proper amount of this site. It'll also have some not this site in it. I won't scare them or you. Don't worry.

You Can Dream The Dream

This snail can dream the dream. The snail dreams of being a chicken. Even if he's slow and mollusky he still believes that he fast and poultry-esque. And it is that steadfast belief and dream that keeps him going every day as he dreams his dream. Everyone has a dream they're dreaming and I'm sure that even You Can Dream The Dream.

I gave the snail chicken attributes because he works toward his dreams and he can accomplish them.

C.

When I started on this one I was concerned that it might be mistaken for a G., but then I said to myself, "No, they'll focus on the blue letter that really stands out from the background." And with that I confidently said that this was C. I hope my faith in you all isn't misplaced.

Ancient

Hello everyone. I had no choice. I had to make an ancient caveman chicken. I made his beak a bit off from normal on purpose, to emphasize the unadvanced nature. Then I gave his some tusks. All the best ancient animals have tusks or long teeth or something. Then I gave him some beady eyes because he's a bit dull in the head. And there was no doubt in my mind that he NEEDED a leopard-skin.

You know. I probably should have just drawn a Raptor.

B.

This is the second in my Alphabet of Chicken. I call it B., which is the only original title I found suitable for this.

NEW PROJECT - A.

I'm starting a new project. It is going to last until it is done. I don't know how long it'll take but I'm in no hurry to finish it. This is the first of the twenty-six parts.

The new series is of course Alphabet of Chicken. Today we have A.

I like how A. came out. The chicken's got a nice dangling look to it.

American Pillar (Pillar Chicken)

Today, while visiting the Butler Institute of American Art, I saw the painting American Pillar (Pillar Rose) by Roger Brown. It was beautiful and inspired me to make a poor imitation. It lacks the same effort and care the original had and the background wasn't done very well at all. Also now that I look at it online I see that the tree was green. It had looked very black in person. While my imitation may not carry the same quality as his it still pulls the American spirit.

NOTE: You can't Google the painting but you can find it in the Butler's website

Stained Overlap

I'm going all ojut today apparently. I guess I got hit by a burst of inspiration. And now I'm gonna burn it all up!

This piece is called Stained Overlap. Exploring notions of lighting and color the light coming unseen from the background passes through the identical staggered "stained glass-esque" images. As the two overlap the image becomes clearer to the eyes and the colors sharper, while the sides, where only one panel is being seen the colors are dull and unclear.

The piece, of course, shows that, while together we are strong and powerful, alone we are weak and can't truly express the points we want to show. If you are all alone then you will never be anything but a dull, unclear voice, but together you will be a sharp clear force pushing through the world...

It's been a while since I done a nice one like this.

The 5-5-5

Well I got tagged by retarded and well. I've never been one to pass on a bad idea.

I had to Make 5 categories and put 5 things in each of them. After that I try to get 5 more people to do it, but that seemed like a big hassle. Now, don't think I'm being all weird and actually writing things... I made mine in MS Paint. It's only got 6 chickens but I think it's alright

Now, I realize that some of those need explinations. The eye with the swirl is being hypnotised, and I'm terrified of a specific striped mask, worms, maggots, my death, and, since I couldn't think of a last one, statues with bloody fists

DIVE! DIVE! FIREBALL!

Okay, this is a chicken diving as a ball of fire through the sky.  He's a silhouette, because I like silhouettes and think it looks nice like that. The fire ball wasn't really supposed to be a fireball, but it looks vaguely fire-esque so I'm calling it fire.

Wrong Place

This chicken is in the wrong place at the wrong time. While innocently looking for a meal he got himself between some fries and a soda. It certainly looks bad.

A Chicken Y/N

This may be my finest chicken. Of course everyone agrees that it is a chicken because it obviously is. Any dissenters are free to have their comments minds deleted for being an idiot. I can't say I approve of those who think this isn't a chicken. Those sorts are clearly not very intelligent. Oh, right this is sorta like half gritty sharpness and half pink. I think this made a nice dichotomy, and yes I know I'm completely misusing that word.

UPDATE 10/06: My friend pointed out that I marked this not chicken. As such I'm not very intelligent and can't approve of me

Dual Chicken - Part 3 - The Beast in the Mirror

Here, I made another Dual Chicken Part. I like doing these and I don't really mind the lack of an audience. In fact that lack means I can mess around as far as working on it goes. Anyways This one's got the boring part mid-way through.

Exciting Part

Boring Part

AFEM Report: Extermination Division's Director Craig Taylor on "Dual Chicken"

We sent a sniper, but as he never reported back we immediately dispatched another mutant. It's unfortunate, but we have no choice but to use them. That Detective, Martin I believe, was given the trigger. This one should be able to destroy the "Dual Chicken" at any rate. Even if it fails that's another mutant dead though.

More Exciting Part

Lightning

Okay, here we have a simple evil sorcerer or maybe just some emo kid. That's left for you as the viewer to decide. I lean toward sorcerer, what with the eerie lightning but that's just me. He could just as easily be an emo kid who just sat out in a thunder storm and kept snapping pictures until he got his lame photo that makes him look evil.

Oh and he's a chicken. I sometimes forget to mention that.

The Secret Share

This is "The Secret Share" Quite simply put the left chicken is sharing a secret of great and shocking proportions.  That's probably why he's looking back, making sure no one is looking. If anyone overheard it could ruin him. And without him all the orphans would starve! I'll circle back and explain that non-sequential comment when I think of a good reason for it.
