Shades McCoolguy VIII: Cyan Sea

Also, if you're curious, the 9th part and end of this trilogy will be yellow.
The sailor walked the ship, unaware that Shades had boarded before he left. Left to his devices the ones that had been caught and loaded onto the ship earlier would be in trouble. Using the whole of his abilities to hide. He had to get rid of the sailor or it would be trouble for the ones locked up here.
He was starting to wonder why he had taken this job at all. It was because of what he'd done back when he worked for the colonel, of course. Shades McCoolguy was distracted by these thoughts, and that's why the sailor managed to catch him. The butcher's knife in that man's hand left a pair of cuts on Shades' chest. This would be the end of this. One way or the other. Shades' plans were tossed to the wayside now.

Card Game Name

Chicken Maker Card Game just doesn't seem like a particularly good name for a game. Needs to be a big splashier. Something like Chicken Draw! or Cluck: The Chicken Maker Card Game. Actually I think I kind of like those mashed together. Chicken Draw! and then I can subtitle it The Chicken Maker Card Game. Anyways the game's not really done yet so I suppose the name isn't needed right away. I did want to know if you guys had any ideas though. After all my fanbase, which I used to and generally still do consider imaginary, is a creative resource I should exploit.

CM Bricks

The world is lucky that I'm far too lazy to go off and start tagging stuff. Otherwise all the brickwork in town would look something like this.

THE FORUTH VERSE OF THE EPIC OF BEOCHICKEN

Beochicken Verse IV
THUS ONCE MORE APPEARED OUR HERO
THE CHICKEN WHO HAD FOUGHT AND BLED
BLED AND FOUGHT AS HE CRAWLED TOWARD THE NEST
THE MOTHER HEN COME BACK FOR HER DEMON SPAWN
BEOCHICKEN MIGHTIEST OF FOWL STOOD TALL AGAINST
NO OTHER PATH REMAINED THE BATTERED FOWL
SOON THE FRYER MIGHT COME FOR HIM BUT NOW HE FOUGHT
TEARING AND STRIKING THE MASSIVE MOTHER
WHO HAD BROUGHT FORTH THE THREATENING OTHER
ALONE BEOCHICKEN STRUGGLED WITHOUT BLADE OR CLAW
THE HEN THREW HIM ASIDE STILL UNHARMED
BEOCHICKEN CALLED OUT
NO STRENGTH FILLED HIM AS HE CROWED
THE DARK HEN CAME UPON HIM SETTING HIS FRIGHT
HE WOULD EVER SHARE THIS TALE
THE PITIFUL DEFEAT AT THE HANDS OF THIS BEAST
BUT THAT WAS NOT THE END
NO THE HERO WOULD NOT DIE THERE
BEOCHICKEN SEARCHED AND CALLED TO NO AID
UNABLE TO LIFT UP FROM THE NEST HE FEARED
WHAT FOWL WOULD NOT FEAR IN THAT PLACE
YET IN ALL HIS FEAR HE SAW A CHANCE
IN THE NEST LAY A BROKEN BLADE
NO DOUBT TORN FROM THE LEG OF A BRAVE FOWL
IT WOULD BE THE ONE AND ONLY CHANCE
GRASPING THE BLADE IN HIS BEAK HE DREW UP
WITH ALL HIS MIGHT FADING AWAY HE ROSE UP
AS SHE CAME DOWN TO FINISH HIS TALE
THE BLADE STRUCK UP AND LODGED IN HER
THAT WAS NOT ENOUGH TO FALL THE BEAST
BEOCHICKEN WAS BROKEN AND BATTERED
HE HAD NO STRENGTH REMAINING
THAT HAD SURELY ONCE MORE BEEN THE END OF HIM
BUT UNARMED AND WITHOUT MIGHT
THE GREAT CHICKEN STILL HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO FIGHT
THE BROKEN WING OF THE MIGHTY FOWL PIERCED FORTH
LIKE A BLADE THE SHATTERED BONE PIERCED HIS FLESH
AND THE FLESH OF HIS FOE AS WELL
THIS WAS WHERE HE WOULD DIE
THAT WAS WHAT BEOCHICKEN ACCEPTED
AND WITH THAT HE SACRIFICED THE REMAINS OF HIS WING
THE DARK HEN AND ITS FOWL CHILD WERE BOTH VANQUISHED

Card Games

You may recall that about 2 weeks ago I told you that I was working on a card game. In this post I will have some follow-up on that. But first check out this card game anime chicken. Feel free to consider this a parody of YuGiOh, Cardfight Vanguard, Duel Masters, YuGiOh and other such shows. I think it looks pretty good. The plot is simple. He draws a card, immediately plays it, and wins to the irritation and confusion of his competitor. Probably also saves the world somehow.

Now, back to my other thing. In Chicken Maker Card Game, which really needs a better name, there are 3 kinds of cards.  Leaders, Support, and Flash. Leader Cards only have an effect when they are in the Leader position. Support Cards only have an effect if they are in the Support Position and Flash Cards have an effect when played at any time or when used int he support position. Now you can put support cards in Leader positions or Leaders in Support position, though there isn't much point in the latter aside from a couple of specific cards. Anyways I need to make more cards. Right now I only have 36 of them and I want each player to have at least a 20 card deck.

Front View

This is a chicken drawn face forward. I usually do things from the side or at a 3/4 angle. Look at those high class eyes.

DragonNapping

The dragon had left more than a year ago and much to the surprise of everyone he had left behind... a son. That chicken had seemed no different than the others. Perhaps he was not truly the dragon's son at all. But one day he blew fire and he was ostracized. It was unknown what would happen from there. The dragon returned and grabbed him, flying away with his son.

2 Anime Chickens

There was a request for two anime chickens and I quote "Fighting or something." I decided to go with or something and draw a smooch. This is obviously the main character and that jerk bad boy that woos her in one of those girl shows.

Mario

One of my older challenges was a Mario Brothers Chicken. This is that. At first I was just drawing the hat, but then I added the absurd moustache and the overalls. I think it worked out quite well.

Challenge Complete! You may notice I've done a few challenges in a row recently. That's because I'm thinking I might just start fresh since well, some of those are years old and the people who asked for them are long gone.

CEO

Hi Chicken Maker. I challenge you to draw an angry chicken CEO at an angry chicken press meeting.
Yeah, I guess I can do that. Here we see the CEO of Cluck Corp angrily talking to the press. How's it look? I assume you're still around since it was quite recent.

Card Game

Hey, you may recall that at one point, years ago, I made a card game. It was honestly kind of awful and that's why I started working on a revised version the other day. Maybe it's a 2nd edition. At any rate it will be much better looking and probably even get some proper play testing as opposed to the rather light testing the original got. It certainly has some better rules already. Anyways I just felt inclined to let you guys know that I'm working on something for the site. I haven't done any sort of big project in a while and, well, that sort of thing is fun. Every card will be based off an older post, including most of the ones from the original. If you've got any favorites feel free to make requests.

Shades McCoolguy VII: Magenta Journey

The last part of Shades McCoolguy was posted back in 2011. As such there were a few things that bothered me looking at it. Now, I'm not so sure that most of you were here to see the last part so I'll fill you in part of the gimmick for Shades McCoolguy is that it's versions of the same picture. As such I was a bit reluctant to make any real changes to it, but in the end I did redraw part of it, though for the most part it is the same as before. So, catch up on the series before reading. This is the beginning of the Cajun Queen Trilogy.

His investigation of the sailor man led him deep into the secrets of the Cajun Queen. Having boarded the ship he didn't have much of a choice at this point. Shades McCoolguy, a chicken who had in the past straddled the line between good and evil, had successfully fought back against many fowl villains in his day and this would be much the same.
Hearing the troubled clucks of those trapped on the ship he could only choose to ignore them. By the end of the day they would be fried, and if he was noticed here he would be stuck in the same boat as them and then he couldn't expect to help anyone. He was going to save them though. Just not yet.
It was an unfortunate coincidence that the ship started to move so soon after he boarded. The sailor didn't realize that he was on board after all. Shades didn't really have any sea legs to speak of so this could only lead to trouble. The chicken was on the move because there wasn't really any other choice.

Search Fixed

Well, the search function of this site never really worked that well so I fixed it. Admittedly I probably should have done that ages ago. Let me know if you have any trouble with it.

Also this is an awful detective.

Gritty Martial Artist

The battles had been going for so long now. His talons were stained with blood and it was hard to even think he had the right to stand in the light of the world anymore. In that moment he realized that something else was coming.

This is the return of what has been called my signature style, the Gritty Sharpness. I don't use it very often because, well, black and white feels kind of lazy.

I chose to make a scientist-chicken for all of you. I sometimes forget the most important part of this site. Chickens in silly costumes are what it's all about.
