Chicken Draw

I'm happy to say that Chicken Draw is now available once more. The new version is nicer, with more cards and an actual box, but is unfortunately more expensive as it runs $10 instead of the former $5 price tag. Up to 4 people can play though. Pdf is still free

I've had this update half done for months so I'm glad to finally make it available, exclusively at DriveThruCards.

Stone & Sword

I make games. Some of them even have nothing to do with Chickens. Stone & Sword is now available for purchase, though I admit at $13 it is a bit more expensive than other items I've put out in the past. It's only $1 if you have the enthusiasm for print and play though.

I mean, of course, there is one chicken. I felt like I couldn't very well not include one. I mean ChickenMaker is the name I use when I sell things after all.

Chicken Draw is Out

Chicken Draw is now available on DriveThruCards. You can purchase the digital files for the grandiose price of $0, or decide to splurge and order a physical copy for $5. This is my first experience with their card printing. It's pretty good.

Chicken Draw: The Chicken Maker Card Game

Hey everyone. That card game I was making is out now. Hurray!
Rules
Cards

Here's the rules and the cards on Google Drive. I will tell you now that the Google Drive PDF viewer has all sorts of trouble with colors so you should probably download it and use Acrobat Reader or some other software to view it. Oh, and you probably don't need to print those purple card backs but they're there if you want them.

In 1-2 weeks when I got my proof copy you'll be able to buy a physical copy on DriveThruCards for $5.00. If you want you'll also be able to buy the digital version for the lofty price of $0.00 there. I'll make another post when that's available though.

Some things have changed with it since I started. I don't know why this game had each player build a deck in the first place. I wanna say it was part of the original challenge and I carried it though since it was trading card game like. Anyways It's now a simpler game with one deck of cards and one discard pile. I got rid of some of the more complicated rules and nonsense I had in it. Those can go to other nonsense I make later... Like an expansion or something. "Roll Some Dice! The Thrilling Expansion to Chicken Draw." If this does get an expansion it almost definitely won't be called that.

Prototyping

Here's how prototyping a game works. You print out sheets of cards and maybe watch a movie or something while you cut them up with scissors and slide them into overpriced plastic sleeves.Once that's done you can play it some more to make sure it actually works. Actually that's how print and play card games work in general and that's what you'll all have free access to once this is done. Maybe I'll look into making these actual physical cards once I'm at that point. I think I can do a 50 card deck for $5 on DriveThruCards so I'll probably set that up. Need to finish the game first though.

Card Game Name

Chicken Maker Card Game just doesn't seem like a particularly good name for a game. Needs to be a big splashier. Something like Chicken Draw! or Cluck: The Chicken Maker Card Game. Actually I think I kind of like those mashed together. Chicken Draw! and then I can subtitle it The Chicken Maker Card Game. Anyways the game's not really done yet so I suppose the name isn't needed right away. I did want to know if you guys had any ideas though. After all my fanbase, which I used to and generally still do consider imaginary, is a creative resource I should exploit.

Card Games

You may recall that about 2 weeks ago I told you that I was working on a card game. In this post I will have some follow-up on that. But first check out this card game anime chicken. Feel free to consider this a parody of YuGiOh, Cardfight Vanguard, Duel Masters, YuGiOh and other such shows. I think it looks pretty good. The plot is simple. He draws a card, immediately plays it, and wins to the irritation and confusion of his competitor. Probably also saves the world somehow.

Now, back to my other thing. In Chicken Maker Card Game, which really needs a better name, there are 3 kinds of cards.  Leaders, Support, and Flash. Leader Cards only have an effect when they are in the Leader position. Support Cards only have an effect if they are in the Support Position and Flash Cards have an effect when played at any time or when used int he support position. Now you can put support cards in Leader positions or Leaders in Support position, though there isn't much point in the latter aside from a couple of specific cards. Anyways I need to make more cards. Right now I only have 36 of them and I want each player to have at least a 20 card deck.

Card Game

Hey, you may recall that at one point, years ago, I made a card game. It was honestly kind of awful and that's why I started working on a revised version the other day. Maybe it's a 2nd edition. At any rate it will be much better looking and probably even get some proper play testing as opposed to the rather light testing the original got. It certainly has some better rules already. Anyways I just felt inclined to let you guys know that I'm working on something for the site. I haven't done any sort of big project in a while and, well, that sort of thing is fun. Every card will be based off an older post, including most of the ones from the original. If you've got any favorites feel free to make requests.

Chicken Maker: Limited Card Game

Here we present another game designed by yours truly.

If you want to actually play the game I advise you to purchase a pack of Index cards and either attempt your own chicken drawings or paste these ones onto them.(I suggest drawing. It seems funner that way, and you will have a different style than your opponent even though you're no doubt both using Shades McCoolguy.) This game had been haphazardly balanced and play-tested so I suggest that you use the stats and effects listed on the cards here.

Card Explanation

Deck Construction Rules
You assemble your deck of 13 Chicken Maker cards from the Library. You may not use any cards not contained in the library nor can you use more of any given card than is contained in the library.

Play Rules
00) Each Player begins with a Power of 15 and draws five cards
[SETUP PHASE]
01) If you have cards in your deck draw one card.
02) Place a Chicken face down. This chicken is your Lead.
03) Play any number of supporting Chicken cards, face down.
[COMBAT PHASE]
04) Reveal your Leads
05) At this point you may choose to reveal and activate your supporting Chicken cards.
06) The player whose Lead has the lower modified Attack Score subtracts the opponent's Lead's modified attack score from his Power. In the case of a draw neither side's Power is lowered. If this attack brings your Power below zero then you have lost.
07) Subtract the Cost Number of your Lead and any active support Chicken cards from your Power. If this act brings your Power below zero then you have lost. If both sides drop below zero then the one whose score is more negative loses.
[POST PHASE]
08) Remove all cards from the field and discard them.
09) Return to the Setup Phase.

Rule Clarifications
  • If you do not play a chicken in 02 then you are treated as having a Lead with an attack of 0, and may still play supporting chickens to affect it.

It's what shades looks like, as of the end of his second trilogy.

The white one is stupid powerful in his story

But you really need both halves of him to do anything legit

I went with my remake version for the Cyborg Chicken

Yeah, that sound effect is definitely his attack name

This is meant to represent any chicken you like. As long as it doesn't have a specific card.

Direct Damage
Golden Chicken needs an army to be impressive

Any letter you want. Any one at all.

I just noticed... KungFu Chicken is also KFC

How Presidential

He wins. Period

Zitty NotCoolguy. Not really all that weak despite his lack of cool.

You'd think the power of music would have a cool support effect

The armor does all the real work. Doesn't matter whose using it.

Miles and Miles of the style

It's totally a mermaid

Went with the original Stormcrow instead of my remake version

Emergency escape plan!

BRONTOSAURUS!!!!

Oh yeah. And in case you mistakenly think I did this on a whim... CHALLENGE COMPLETE! Not bad for my 600th post, eh?

Depending on how this goes over I might put out some expansion sets at some point.
