Now, this site has been running for a full 10 years, so as a throwback I did one of the very first image on the site as well.

Social Media

Hey everybody. I'm expanding my social media accounts associated with this site since it's been a while and I'm no longer on every platform I can name.

I'm on Pixiv now. Popular Japanese art site. It's partly in English so good enough for me. I'll figure out what content I'm loading their later. Maybe I'll drop monthly illustration albums or something. Check it out.

Also joined the infamous alt-right twitter(aka gab). They immediately caught my attention with how my pictures weren't compressed. If you have one of these go follow me I guess. Check it out.

And I joined instagram which is super main stream. Not sure why I didn't have one of these before. They immediately surprised my because they are exactly the opposite and despite being primarily for pictures they in fact immediately compress and resize things. Probably because people post their ultra-HD stuff. Check it out.

I'm planning to use YouTube more, but I feel strange drawing while I'm being recorded. I'm either quietly working on it or I'm rambling and doing a bad job. If I actually do that I guess I'll also join like... BitChute? Is DailyMotion still a site? I feel like there's like 4 or 5 random video sites. It's probably too much of a hassle

Am I missing any social media sites that people care about? I'm on Pinterest and Reddit, but those are just personal accounts rather than places I post things.

Can I justify putting anything related to this site on LinkedIn? I mean, probably not

I'm not joining snapchat. What would I even do? Snap pics of my screen?

Maybe I'll put some more stuff on NewGrounds instead of just a bad frogger clone? I hear it got a bunch of new members after that recent Tumblr fuss.

Minds looks neat. Trying to sell me on their cryptocurrency based ad service or whatever.

Going to redo the site design in the near future so I'll get the links on the sidebar figured out then.

So, in celebration of St. Patrick's Day and this excellent website's 9th anniversary here is a selection of my favorites from the past year, but green this time, as is the yearly post.

I intentionally made this version very flat because this gets monotonous, though this one is very monotone.

I feel this is missing something but I still like it

Honorable mention for Gentlefowl and Stand Tall, but doing 9 seemed excessive... Actually this is the 9th anniversary so here's those ones too.

8th Anniversary

It's been a long time since I started this website. And now I'm proud to say we're on our 8th anniversary. I don't think any of my dear guests have been with me that long, but I'm always glad to hear from you so drop a comment on the site, Tumblr, Twitter, whatever.

Now, as is our Anniversary/St. Patrick's Day tradition here are some of my favorite chickens of the year... but green.

Son of Rooster Mask

I was a bit reluctant in coloring more than his costume. It looked pretty slick with just the green version of that.

Stealth Shark
Stealth Ace really came back in a big way this year so I had to include one of him. I hope you're looking forward to more of his acing stealth because I intend to make more of it.

Dark Focus
This Green Focus seems less evil and more... alien energy being. That's probably because the greens lend themselves to a glowing style. Also I opted to keep them all on the lighter end of the lime green spectrum. Still fun.

Okay, I'm happy with the reworking of the site. We have a new banner, new Social Media buttons, new buttons to access the pages on the site, which have also been redone. I'm quite happy with the Money and About Pages, though Collections is very similar to the old Projects page.

Um, well I messed with this for quite a while since I think this site renovation started in the summer. I am actually thinking of revising the banner again, but I'm sure I'll put it off for months as usual.

Only a Test

This is only a test of my new Blogger to Tumblr re-post thing. I mean it's also actually a decent chicken. The low-high quality transition and all that. Or maybe it's in progress to complete? My in progress definitely doesn't look like that though. Wouldn't want my tests to be dull after all.

Site Remodel Nu 2

Hello, I've decided to do some design stuff on the site and mobile site because I know how to computer and I'm a little bored of this one. Um I didn't actually do anything last time I said this so you may not believe me, but it is the case. I will be keeping the general color scheme in tact, but new things on the banner. Everything on the side bar getting redone or removed. Probably also revisit the various pages and decide if I still even want those. At the very least the top left of the site name up there has been bothering me. I can't believe I didn't notice that swoosh was so shaky until I started doing the wallpapers.

So, this is the teaser/warning. Expect things to randomly come and go from the sidebar in the next week or so as I mess with it until I post another announcement.

Also I like silhouettes. They look like they aren't any work but I think I spend more time on them than I do other things. Since it's like that I don't do them often. I mean they're extra work and look lazy. Clearly a terrible choice.

7 Years?

I'm a bit under the weather, but there's no excuse to not post on the Anniversary/St. Patrick's Day. So, as per my long standing tradition I have taken a selection of this year's pieces and greened them up.

In the end the truly deep understanding is that it's all Green

I just really like this one. Probably my favorite for the year.

As special mentions I will add The Stealth Ace Collection, Son of Rooster Mask, and Like Ink Through a Scribble. I actually like quite a few pieces from this year as I went through it but I obviously can't pick them all so I encourage you to do an archive binge.

Like I said in that BEOCHICKEN post earlier this month, I feel like this year was a lull in the site, so this year I think I'm going to get the fire burning on it again. There's still more I want to do after all.

Looking Back at No One

Over the many years I have run this I have had a number of loose relations with my fellow bloggers, whether I was following them on their site, chatting with them in comment sections or what have you. As I look back... I see very few of them still around. This isn't really surprising. I mean, how long do these sorts of things usually last, especially since most blogs these days are made on Tumblr, or just rolled into some guy's Facebook. There are people posting tons on Twitter. These old school blog sites are pretty out of vogue for random stuff like this.

Anyways going through the blogs I follow most of them have been inactive for more than a year now. The people I used to excitedly look forward to hearing from just... faded away without me noticing. Except Dogimo. This guy is still totally rocking it. He's got like 3 or 4 blogs and he posts like every day.

Well, I linked to the rest of this site's associate sites so... Back me on Patreon. I need to do something with that thing also.

Also I switched this site back to a Blogger Profile instead of using Google+ for whatever reason so my posts say Posted by Chicken Maker now instead of J Groves. I like being a mostly faceless Internet figure. Even if I'm not some sneaky anonymous guy.

New Construction

I think I'm going to redo some things on the site. Maybe a new banner, rearrange and clean up the sidebar. I don't think I'm going to do any sort of major design overhaul. I'm kinda used to this color scheme and things, but maybe that will change too. We'll see what I'm thinking once I get going on it.

Tumblr

This site is now being reposted on Tumblr. I'm mostly going to ignore that, of course.

Also the twitter is now posted using IFTTT instead of twitterfeed. I couldn't get IFTTT to connect to my Facebook page so that one I'm still posting using twitterfeed.

I think this works? I guess we'll find out pretty soon. If that is your jam go ahead and use it.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to apo-

Sorry to interrupt you regularly scheduled Chicken Maker, but we have exciting news. This is post number 1200! I was going to throw it in yesterday since I hit the end of the month and wanted to post some more since I don't feel satisfied with the number of posts I've had the last few months... But all I had was this.

It just didn't seem like enough, so I kept going. That much is clearly not enough to properly celebrate this many posts. After all this is an excellent site and it deserves better than I have been giving it. That's why I decided to do something like this instead. 1200 glorious fowl to celebrate this victory.

6 Years... 6 of this!

This site has been running for 6 years. That's ridiculous. I mean it's a sub-popular blog on a strange back corner of the internet. I'm not even repackaging something else or giving people illegal downloads. You'd think I would have quit doing this by now... Anyways I'm checking in on this. If you show up drop a comment. I always do appreciate them.

Oh well, as per tradition I celebrate the Site Anniversary/St. Patrick's Day by greening up some of my favorites from the year. My initial thought was that I didn't post much this year but I actually had a lot of posts I liked when I was flipping through. Guess it was a good one. Might be time to update the featured  posts.

A combined version of the Cold Duel and Hot Duel. I always forget which one green is so I just didn't include it in the original pair. It's a cool color... I think.

The green lightning was basically magic. Tesla never talked about it.

This Piece by no means benefited from being made green, but I really like the original and I wanted to plug it here.

Also an honorable mention to Green Energy Being, but he was already quite green.
I also like the pair of Enraged and Serene, but they were already monochrome and they didn't lend well to being made green.

I mean I do have the one Patron so I feel like he best have some stuff at least. 5 Years of Chicken Maker

With this post I celebrate this site's 5 year anniversary. That's like 35 in internet years. (They're about the same as dog years.)

Anyways this has been a fairly eventful year for this site. I mean I made that RPG, and that card game. There's also the T-Shirts, though no one's ever bought one. I only made them available at all on request. Oh, and I had a great April Fools saying I was done with this site.

Now, as is tradition, I will be posting Green versions of some of my favorites, since it's also St. Patrick's Day.
