Cute Splash
I made a simple and cute chicken (Utilizing my Rounder and Cuter style) and I decided it would look nice to just splash a handful of them onto the image, as seen here.
But then I considered it further and figured I should add a tile version for use as a desktop wallpaper, seen below here. I just switched my own desktop background so please enjoy this.

Hello everyone. We're back with a thrilling Superhero themed background. Here we see a Classic 4 Color type hero being surprised by the arrival of one of those Spawn-style dark heroes. The city is obviously big enough for the both of them but they'll have to duke it out in a cross over before never interacting again, since the Dark Hero really is the sort of villain Four Color should be defeating.
The Spawn-type was more interesting to draw, but I prefer the classic style superhero personally.

Everyone! Let's all Chicken Maker!
In this month's piece I have opted to utilize the generally underused Layer Style of chicken. A style that was meant to imitate a comic that had a style entirely unlike this one. Regardless there are a few of complex patterns that are completely unnoticeable since there is so little of that layer left in the image, mostly the spiraling star pattern that formed the green on the Let's All Chicken Maker text. I originally had that extent to the eye, but it ended up being solid so I did a different one there.

This is the wallpaper for August. It is sort of inspired by this picture from an older era of this site. The era of arbitrary challenges. Those were fun, but eventually they piled up and I just had no interest in working on them. Anyways this brave bird is carrying the legacy of his fallen friends and taking up their scarf.
I tried several sorts of shading and patterns but in the end felt that the flat look was nicer for this piece.

This is the wallpaper for August. It is sort of inspired by this picture from an older era of this site. The era of arbitrary challenges. I used to draw a lot of fire, so I decided to focus in on that for this month's wallpaper. First thing I did was just draw those pretty flames. Then I had to do the next part and it took me a bit to decide what the next bit was. A fowl escaping from... hell? Sure. That works, but then I had all the empty black space. What should go there. I contemplated a bit. There's nothing wrong with having white space, so to speak, but a purple pattern seemed like a good call. I tried some swirls and swooshes, but didn't quite get the feel I wanted. Then I realized... It was insanity. This fowl is escaping the flames of madness!

In this piece the illustrious Blind Martial Fowl teams up with Kung Fu Chicken to face off the oncoming waves of ninjas. Ninjas are still good, right? I know normally waves are mostly of zombies or such these days but ninjas seemed like a better match for Martial Artists.

Hello everyone~ I've done something I haven't done in a long while. I made a desktop wallpaper. And unlike the first time where I declared 1280x800 excessively large and the handful of tiled backgrounds I made this one is actually full 1920x1080. That's right, it's in HD. I'll have another one for you next month. I'm going to do a few of these anyways.
Now as for the contents of this wallpaper...
The Cerelean Alliance has for generations stood firmly opposed to the Verdant Empire... No, that doesn't sound quite right.
The fowl of the fiendish green shelf have long desired the precious cargo of the blue trunk...
These guys aren't really friends but they're content to glare from across the desert...
The brown fowl of the order of the chest sought after the massive figure the grey order of the bookcase had long kept upon their high shelf...
Grey vs Brown. Green vs Blue. Shelf vs. Trunk. In a Desert. FIGHT!
One of those ought to make sense to you. Absolutely.

This is my new background. I haven't done any rainbow things in a while.Probably should have added some sort of side by side looping in addition to the top-down one.
Also Windows 7 for some strange reason insists on doing JPEG compression for the wallpapers, whereas Vista required BMP which was stupid for a different reason. I'm going to see if there's some way around that.
EDIT: Okay, so I save it as a .BMP then rename it to .JPG and for some inexplicable it works like that. Firefox will apparently also do it with no issue.
