Filled with an overwhelming feeling of anger the burning feeling welling up inside of him was anything but a fulfilling passion. That red feeling is brought to the forefront with the strong colors, shading and abstract background.

Pastel Touch

This piece has a touch of light color rather than the artists usual dark shading.

Elaborate Costume

I was thinking I haven't made enough costumed fowl lately... So i just decided to go wild. Just start throwing things on all willy nilly. He got a scarf, a spinny cap, a zipper vest. Seems like some solid stuff. Should have done some goggles... Actually... No. No no. I'm not doing a goggled variant.

No good epic has all of its parts. At least one should be missing in the middle, to make it more legitimate. Or maybe the missing verse will come in later. Either way the 5th Verse covers his rise to power and that he was a good king. Possibly a small side adventure. Definitely when he got an eye-patch.

New Day

As this site has grown I have become more concerned with the quality of my work, whereas it was initially a matter of me pumping these things out as fast as  I could make them. I throw out more half-finished things than I finish now, and with this piece, the third I started on today, I start the new month.

Green Energy Being

Sticking to the Green Chickens, today I showcase an Energy Being. These not-quite-gods that show up in every scifi show that runs long enough are always interesting. What sort of goals will they have? From StarGate's Ancients to StarTrek's Q Continuum these characters tend to show up to cause trouble, fix the plot, or not at all.

Paper

A rare physical work from the illustrious Chicken Maker. He's green because I haven't got any little paper squares in white, grey, brown, black, beige, toupe, or any other neutral color, except of course Buff, but I had to use that for the beak.

Also apparently the Blogger android app is broken. I couldn't upload this post with that. Thought this posted a couple days back. Sorry everyone.

Cold Already

It's already cold out so I wanted to do a winter chicken. It was strangely difficult for me to avoid the holiday stuff, but I'm certainly not doing any of that before Thanksgiving.

Intense Moment

I just wanted this to look as intense as it could. the head form couldn't get enough oomph, so I made it a near-black shadow. The eye carries a strong glare. Dunno why it's blue. I default to blue, even though it's not really a chicken color. I think it did a pretty solid job as far as that goal goes.

And it slid in before midnight...

Chicken Heroics Expansion In Progress

I have started on quite a few follow-ups to Chicken Heroics and finished... Almost nothing. I have 3 or 4 half written things on this hard drive. Clearly the issue is that I'm not telling you guys. Once I say I'm doing it I feel like I need to finish. This short expansion is focused on magic, because my explanation of magic in the core book was like a paragraph. Also because Roosters and Rituals seemed like a good title. I can flesh it out to a 4-8 page booklet no problem. Make up some new rules. Add some new spells. It'll be sitting pretty.

Hunt And Peck

This guy has a much nicer desk than I do, which is just rude since he can't even type properly. I mean he uses the ole' Hunt and Peck method.

Can't Smart Phone

If you were a chicken you wouldn't be able to smart phone. Putting aside your lack of fingers and hands these modern capacitive touch screens are picky. I mean I have issues with them because I have a few calluses on my fingers

Chicken in One Click

Long ago on this site I drew a whale that I called "Chicken in Two Clicks." Well, here's a chicken drawn in one, and as a bonus it even looks like one. I covered up a lot of mistakes with the Gritty Sharpness shading...Now, I won't tell you it's my bst work, but it isn't bad. With I'd done more with those tail-feathers, but I couldn't exactly do any touch-ups without defeating the purpose.

Calming Sun

The Calming Sunset comes down as the calm hen waited for her love to return.

Vampire 3

Someone suggested I do a Dracula. I scoffed and said I already had like 3 Draculas. So, here's my newest Dracula... I mean Vampire. I hadn't realized they were from back in '09. This is a much better one really.

The Dreadful Wolf-Fowl!

On the night of the full moon this innocent fowl is driven to madness. Its body shifts and squirms. The wings twist into legs. Pointed teeth fill the inside of the beak. The ears... Oh, those horrifying things.

I decided I needed some classic monster to balance the Slasher from yesterday.

Slasher Horror

I think I've hit most of the core slasher horror points in this picture. As you can see on the following bullet-ed list,

• Random Blood Spatter
• Freaky face (For bonus points another chicken's face)
• Distinctive weapon (Another Chicken's claw)
• Crazy Laugh (You can just hear the cackle coming out of that mouth)
• Vaguely Psudeo-Supernatural
• Leaves one alive

So, as you see he doesn't quite have it down, having forgotten to leave one alive to go on to a thrilling life in an insane asylum.

Fresh FrankenChicken

FrankenChicken is a term generally only used by people trying to scare you out of eating chicken nuggets. This is clearly not that.

Also there's a theme this week. Don't tell anyone but it's Halloween on Friday.

Rough Spectre

A ghost shouldn't be clean cut, but it also shouldn't be so vague that it doesn't have a clear form. In this piece I tried to find a balance between rough form and clear image. The scrawling outline and lack of distinct colors leaves a shaky form, while the shapes leave a solid enough impression that the material is clear. By bringing together these distraught elements we present an interesting piece.

Fraud Psychic

This site has shown a fair array of psychics, mages, supertechs and all the sort. This guy's just a fraud though. Is that supposed to be a turban?

A Different Look Today

Okay, my attempt to make something distinct had definitely come to a success with this piece. I am almost sure I don't have anything that looks like this in my gallery.

Well, almost. I mean there's quite a bit of this site. This piece has elements of Sketchy, which I posted just last month, and my so called "Layers" Style. I suppose in a lot of ways there's nothing brand new in it.

Empty Feeling

The bold outlines set an unfulfilled tone as the dull listless colors fill them in, representing a struggle to achieve a solid result. The unclear eye gives and impression that the fowl lacks character. The black in the inside of the beak, alongside the black background, implies that there is nothing inside the chicken.

Anyways, what I'm trying to say is... I missed a day. My attempt to post every day this month has failed. Heh...

Stranger Outline

This piece has a stranger outline than usual. Well, really it's a one pixel black outline. It's pretty much the standard as far as outlines go. But I didn't make it that way. I made it by putting color on a black canvas and keeping the parts separated. It was only after it was finished that I realized it was such a standard sort of outline. That's actually a bit annoying because I went from a different direction so that I would get something that looked different.

Anyways no matter how strange the journey every path leads to the same destination.

Today's piece has a nice early computer game look that I like and I think you'll all enjoy. Sorry for the small size.

FreshPaint

I tried out FreshPaint today. That's basically the Windows 8 version of Paint. I don't like it. I didn't like it last time I fiddled with it either. Well, it seems like a near program. It's just not one I think I want to use.

Patreon Exclusive Today

Today I posted a Patreon Exclusive... That is I posted the finished version of the Incomplete post from a couple days ago on there. I mean I do have the one Patron so I feel like he best have some stuff at least. But that didn't stop me from also giving you this one... which I'll admit I had sitting around with my intention to post something exclusive over there.

I kinda didn't want to link that since it takes you to a link saying nothing but I feel incomplete not directing you to it.

Pac-Chicken

This is better than what I had yesterday but I'm not totally satisfied with it either... I think it's as good as I'm going to get trying to have both the Pac-Man aesthetic and a chicken though. I can do a better Pac-Man, and I can do a better chicken, but this is my best Pac-Chicken

In Progress

Today I failed to complete a chicken, but I said I'd have a post every day, and this is one even if this chicken is still in progress. (I also have a half-done Pac-Man chicken but I don't really like it)

Donning her flowing cape of steel feathers Emily Pullet becomes Feather Cloak, the masked vigilante. Waltzing against fowl foes she always closes the case, leaving only the criminal and a steel feather behind as evidence.

This was supposed to be a guy but for some reason it looked effeminate to me and I'm not so picky that that's an issue. Especially not this month.

Captured Night

Blindfolded. Tied up. Mouth taped shut. Thrown onto the ground outside at night. It's definitely a terrifying situation to imagine yourself in. 

Aztec Sacrifice

The volcano billows behind the priest as he prepares to end it with a bloody sacrifice.

Desert Style

This Desert-Style Chicken is the model of intuition and heat survivability. With his comfortable red cloak and headband he keeps in the cool and keeps out the hot.

Framing Buff

This buff fowl is enjoying a thrilling game of "G!," the most cleverly named game on the market. Unfortunately while he was enjoying himself people were getting him in their sights.

Digital Pilot

Wearing the helmet perceptions of reality are faint as it fills your senses with the input from the system.

This is, I believe, the most detail I have tried to render using my "Gritty Sharpness" style of black and white cel-shading-esque art. How did it work?

Red and Yellow

I'm not entirely sure why this website is purple. That's neither of my favorite colors after all. Those are Crimson and Gold, though I generally just render that as Red and Yellow. Anyways as I as saying not really sure why this site is purple. I do know why it's this lavender-ish color. But that was a development from it being a darker purple.

Never Old

A four color design never gets old. And if it's these 4 colors these are usually the ones I pick. Really this design could be used with any sort of pattern. It's only 4 chickens because well, that's this site.

Psychic Burst

The humble space chicken sees a multitude of possible futures before him with only a moment to react to what's about to happen.
Orange and White are colors I associate with space outfits. I think that that's not right though.

Craftsmanship

This fowl fellow has been through quite a bit of the rough and tumble. For this piece rather than try to push a concept I just went with some craftsmanship.

Bold View

Previously I showed you a dull view. Not I will show you a bold one. I used stronger sharper lines in the chicken. I liberally applied detail to the grass. I needed to spice up the sky so I added in a rainbow. I think we can agree that's a better tree. And it's in strong bright colors so as not be be as boring as the previous picture.

Also that was post 1100, this is 1111. I think they make a nice contrast.
