Coming Right at You

I almost never use this sort of straight on perspective of late. And by of late I mean... Since June, when I previously mentioned that I don't do it lately. That wasn't as far back as I expected.

Vampire 4

I have drawn what is basically this same vampire 4 times since 2009. Every time I do it I think those old ones look awful but this one is great. Well, actually I'm fairly happy with Vampire 3. It would look different even if I did it in that style now though.

Anyways back to the important part... Why did I think a moon should be in the vampire picture?

About Banner

Okay, I'm happy with the reworking of the site. We have a new banner, new Social Media buttons, new buttons to access the pages on the site, which have also been redone. I'm quite happy with the Money and About Pages, though Collections is very similar to the old Projects page.

Um, well I messed with this for quite a while since I think this site renovation started in the summer. I am actually thinking of revising the banner again, but I'm sure I'll put it off for months as usual.

Stealth Donut

Even an office that has avoided renovations for years can't avoid Stealth Ace. Not even its mighty faux wood finish press board table can fend off this master of disguise.

Mascot

I want a mascot character. I'm not really sure where I'm going with that though so I scribbled up a few things but nothing quite grabbed me. I mean it needs a simple style and it needs a gimmick. That gimmick shouldn't be the costume though because a mascot needs to be drawn in a variety of outfits. So, this is brain storming. I just sketched up a small assortment of things.

I tried a few things out, like cat ears, The Rounder and Cuter style, HERO from my poorly thought through comic and something that closely resembles but is distinct from Stealth Ace... Actually while I was drawing it I thought maybe my mascot character should just be Stealth Ace.

Black White Balance

Here we go. This is a nice relaxing piece based on silhouettes.By reversing the colors in semi-regular sections we break up the image while otherwise maintaining consistent and smooth lines.

Stripe

I'm coming up really short this month. There will be another post in the next 15-20 minutes here. There's nothing to say about this. It's something I knocked out because it was simple and I've posted so little.

Thanksgiving

The turkey knew today would be the day. He had to escape and so going into the night he found a chicken willing to help with his escape, but they both knew that any other night might be the chicken's.

Defeating Steel Fowl

That thing, the Contraption, I had long forgotten it and the shining vision of camaraderie it showed back then. After the Steel Fowl was let out for a test of all things I had given up hope, but it was pushed away by that mysterious robot. Before the Steel Fowl could cause real trouble The Contraption dove into its chest and sent it flying.

A while back I tried to just kind of force a plot, but because there was nothing to go off it didn't really work out. I kind of implied that I would be doing this when I introduced Steel Fowl though, and going ahead and doing random sequels and cross overs seems like a better way to establish some sort of questionable psuedo-setting than the last thing I did... Though that also featured the contraption.

Rooster Mask VS Dark Fowl

Many years ago The Rooster Mask faced a truly fierce foe in the ring. The Dark Fowl was one of the most violent he ever encountered. A chicken on a path of blood. Though he was larger and used his might to supress his foes The Rooster Mask's blood boiled and using his fierce resolve and streadfast technique he was able to break Dark Fowl's undefeated record. Though The Dark Fowl wasn't seriously injured in the match he did not appear again during The Rooster Mask's career.

To clarify for those of you trying to piece the plot together this is The Rooster Mask not Son of Rooster Mask

This is a delicious jack-o-lantern. I should have carved a better one, but... Wait no. I mean I should have carved an actual one. This is nothing but a humble art. I didn't carve anything of any quality.

An adorable group of Trick-or-Treaters. We've got uh... Batman, The Fourth Horseman and some sort of Steam-Punk Scarf fellow. Those are definitely accurate descriptions of these characters.

Sorry sorry. Been working on some Halloween posts and side things for the site, but I forgot to actually post things.

Facing Fire

A dramatic pose in the face of fire. What more could you possibly need? Took me a few tries to get that wing just right. Ah, this pic is a bit higher resolution than usual so click for the full sized version.

Fledgling Lordling

In this piece I chose to focus on strong shading. Then since I had a nice horizon I added a castle, then I figured the chicken may as well be a lord or a princess or something and gave him a medallion. These are offhand side details to the decisive shading though.

I'm still playing with video things. That's the main reason this exists. As per my last post I mean I could have tested the recording software by doing literally anything, but I figured I may as well draw a chicken while I was doing that.

Only a Test

This is only a test of my new Blogger to Tumblr re-post thing. I mean it's also actually a decent chicken. The low-high quality transition and all that. Or maybe it's in progress to complete? My in progress definitely doesn't look like that though. Wouldn't want my tests to be dull after all.

Those ones on the left are meant to be adorable chicks but it's a bit of a trick to discern that, so my apologies.

D'aww. A loving mother on her motley nest. Such serene eyes. A pleasant pink comb, though I don't care for the shape.

Cool Shades

A bad boy is a must have. And it's about time I remake Shades McCoolguy some time. All good franchises need a failed reboot at some point so it's probably coming. Anyways this isn't that.

I started my failed video with this bog standard chicken. As I recall I mentioned such things as the fact that chickens don't actually have green or blue eyes, as I generally portray on this website. They tend to a Yellow-Orange-Brown spectrum.

So many things happen each and every day. New things are born. Old things fade away. Struggles and challenges are faced by countless things. Most of these will never enter your site.

This is my excuse for not posting anything lately. Are you buying it?

HD Backgound September 2016: Let's All Chicken Maker .Net

Everyone! Let's all Chicken Maker!

In this month's piece I have opted to utilize the generally underused Layer Style of chicken. A style that was meant to imitate a comic that had a style entirely unlike this one. Regardless there are a few of complex patterns that are completely unnoticeable since there is so little of that layer left in the image, mostly the spiraling star pattern that formed the green on the Let's All Chicken Maker text. I originally had that extent to the eye, but it ended up being solid so I did a different one there.
